Did you notice

June 14, 2020 Filed Under: Making, Poems in Lockdown, Poetry

Did you notice the clouds today,
lenticular, stretching across the rainless sky?

Did you notice the fresh green fennel feathers
shimmering by the back door?

Did you notice the dandelion suns,
mouths open to the new day?

Did you notice the tumbling redcurrant flowers,
between the James’ Grieve and the yellow rose?

Did you notice the pink tinged blossom opening
like a yoga pose on the daisy speckled lawn?

Did you notice the purple Iris all cheery,
beside the cherry?

Did you notice the egg flowered feverfew,
in the shadow of the shed?

Did you notice each step, each breath,
each beat on the way?
