The Warblers

I set up The Warblers singing for lung health group in Musselburgh in 2015 and a second group in Newtongrange, Midlothian in 2016 as part of a British Lung Foundation project to establish singing groups for people with lung conditions.

Our own evaluations and research evidence consistently show that regular group singing can lead to improvements in both physical and emotional wellbeing for people with lung conditions.

Anyone with a lung condition is welcome to join the groups. We continued online during the coronavirus pandemic and The Warblers are now back meeting in person. The sessions are also zoomed so you are welcome to attend in whatever way works best for you. For more information including our short video please visit The Warblers website which also has a page for videos of warm up and breathing exercises and songs for you to sing along to.

In April 2023 I stepped back from being the song leader for The Warblers and was pleased to hand the work over to James Robertson and Esther Chuang who continue to support people who experience breathlessness through song.
