#27 Devil’s Pulpit with Annemarte (and Molly)

March 4, 2025 Filed Under: 60 walks with 60 friends

One of things I have been enjoying most about these walks is exploring new places. I had resisted the temptation to look up Devil’s Pulpit and enjoyed the adventure all the more as a result.

A truly extraordinary gorge through the sandstone rock, rich with moss and lichen (and rather too much fly-tipped rubbish too…). We scrambled down some slightly precarious old stone steps to get down to the bottom of the gorge and decided to leave wading down the river to a summer adventure!

I have known Annemarte since Callum and Mina wer at nursery together, but i don’t think we have ever been on a walk just the two of us before in all those 24 years! The walk was followed by some very delicious tea and cake whilst the car was charging.
