#26 Woodhall Dean with Sarah (and Carmen)

March 4, 2025 Filed Under: 60 walks with 60 friends

9th February 2025

A cloudy winter day – one of those days when it’s not actually raining, but damp is hanging in the air. The greyness of the sky and the moisture made the moss and lichens leap out even more. I have only been to Woodhall Dean a handful of times before and it never fails to enchant. The first time was with our dear friend Patience, sadly no longer with us, and her daughters one easter when Mum was up staying. We had walked a good stretch across the moor and when we entered the Dean towards the end of our walk I was blown away by the richness. So many greens.

Sarah and I found a new to me circular route, and chatted about menopause and many many other things! Carmen the dog was a faithful companion.
